Project Stars is a long term, multi-faceted program to be implemented by multiple parties. Some would be private companies, local municipal governments, Harris County Precinct Two, and area non- profit organizations. Our initiative is to establish positive identity for eastern Harris County, through a broad communications program highlighting the historical significance of the east side's rich historical heritage. This would be complemented by the development of extensive quality of life enhancement projects including beautification, green space, and related amenities. The Project has identified over thirty areas/ sites/ corridors that offer opportunities for "star projects" such as, "epic art" displayed on the areas many liquid storage tanks and massive buildings. Others would be beautification of major roadway/ freeway corridors, development of historic sites into interpretive parks, and a variety of other marketing, education, and communication programs.
